The story of the company

FerroPharma Ltd. performs its production in Doc.  Doc is located 25 kms to the north of Szeged, by the road linking the towns of Szeged and Csongrad, ca. 10 kms from the exit towards Balastya /at kilometer stone 147/ on the M5 motorway. The production of ferrous fumarate was began by the predecessor of the company in 1988. It is the only product of FerroPharma Ltd. The company’s current name was registered in 2002.

Dr Gyula Kupo was the main owner and managing director of the company until 6^th January 2025. Following his retirement, Dr Kupo sold/handed over the business to a limited company founded by Mr Tibor Sebestyen, Mrs  Eva Szakal Sebestyen and Mr Zsolt Hammerl. This has not affected the operations at the company. Mr Tibor Sebestyen, the new managing director, took over the company management immediately. Mr Tibor Sebestyen is an agricultural engineer and a quality assurance expert engineer with over 25 years’ experience in the field of quality management.

The annual production capacity of the company is 1,000-1,200 tonnes. The company produces exclusively ferrous fumarate of pharmaceutical quality, but our product is also used as feed additive.

One of our most important markets is the United States of America, and a significant proportion of production is shipped to our traditional partners there, while the rest of our production is transported almost all over the world: to Indonesia, China, Canada, South Korea, Turkey and to the member states of the European Union.  

Our objective is: to produce the world’s best quality ferrous fumarate for pharmaceutical purposes to improve the life quality of people suffering from iron deficiency.

 

The company’s technological conditions: we only produce to order and to meet the customers’ demands, we do not keep stocks. The company has all the technical equipment that allows us to produce ferrous fumarate of excellent pharmaceutical quality. The technical standard of our equipment has a consistent good or very good rating, also, they meet the technical and quality requirements. The company places great emphasis on the scheduled maintenance and the constant innovation of the production line taking also sustainability into account.    

The company’s personnel: 4 members of our management have the relevant higher education qualification required for their positions, and they also have extensive experience in marketing – production – finance – and management. Each member of our staff in production has the necessary experience and qualifications along with the relevant knowledge of production. The company management places high emphasis on the continuing training of employees to make sure they acquire all the necessary technical knowledge, as well as health and safety, operating machinery, etc.
